Kvarntorpshögen is a free sculpture park with some 30 sculptures by nationally and internationally recognised artists. Kvarntorpshögen also offers a magnificent view of Närkeslätten. Take the challenge of hiking the 427 steps up one of Europe's longest wooden staircases or drive a car all the way up the steep climb.
Stora Mellösa has fertile land and plenty of wonderful producers of fruit berries and vegetables - especially carrots and potatoes, but also other root vegetables, corn and raspberries.
In addition, there are professional fishermen who sell both zander and Norway lobster in season.

We have our own cycle path - Katrinelundsleden - which runs along gravel roads all the way to Örebro to us, 28 km one way.
This way you can enjoy both country and city without a car. If you want to cycle a little further to Örebro, take the northern route to the city that goes over Ässundet, but then you have to adjust the time for the small bicycle ferry across the water. Otherwise, we can recommend a trip to Hampetorp and further out on Vinön, via the Vinön Trail, or a trip along the Kvismare Canal or a trip to the nature reserves at Göksholm or Segersjö.
During May-September, on Saturdays and Wednesdays, the M/S Sirena runs on Lake Hjälmaren with a stop at Katrinelund The tour is a good and easily accessible way to experience Lake Hjälmaren and get to Katrinelund from Örebro for a lunch excursion. See more info at M/S Sirenas Website
